Carpal Tunnel (CMT Micro Module)

Carpal tunnel syndrome is one of the most common entrapment neuropathies, yet the source of median nerve irritation is not always confined to the wrist. A broader understanding of the mechanical factors affecting the entire course of the nerve is often essential for helping patients recover more fully.

This Corrective Manual Therapy micro module provides a focused, practical approach to assessing and treating carpal tunnel syndrome. You’ll learn the relevant anatomy, accurate assessment techniques, an effective treatment sequence, and practical home-retraining strategies that help patients maintain the improvements achieved during treatment and support lasting results.

Online Course Content

In this presentation, we look at Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, a common, debilitating, repetitive strain injury. The standard model for explaining this chronic condition is ‘inflammation’ of the flexor tendons that pass through the carpal tunnel in the wrist.

Yet in clinical practice we rarely, if ever, see signs of inflammation when clients present with the classic distribution of neurological symptoms associated with this condition. Further doubt is cast on this assumption when surgical interventions fail to alleviate symptoms!

Here we look at a broader approach required to address the numerous factors contributing to Carpal Tunnel.
